Peacemaker 6.4mm material serves as a resilient channel for low frequency applications. This product will reduce structural noise which equates to poor acoustics of the low frequencies within the space and low frequencies leaving the space. The magic of this material is in its anti-vibration quality. (i.e. In home theaters, walls may have enough mass for containing low frequencies but what they are missing is the decoupling effect that Peacemaker 6.4 provides.
Just because Peacemaker 3.2 or mass loaded vinyl or other dense material is added does not equate to ISOLATION just because it has density and may be heavy. Sound travels quite efficiently through dense materials and will lend itself to more structural noise if not properly ISOLATED. Most effective soundproofing solutions contain a lot of mass PLUS some resilience (shock absorber effect applied to a wall). Thicker does not necessarily mean better - it depends on the application and the frequency you are dealing with.)
Please note: The 6.4mm Peacemaker is NOT as dense as the 3.2mm product and does not offer the same STC properties. The STC is nominal. It is designed instead to be used specifically for anti-vibration applications and low frequency isolation.

Fire Safety
Peacemaker has been tested in accordance with Consumer Products Safety Commission FF 1-70 Pill Test as a standard to determine the surface burning of materials when exposed to small scale burning source. Peacemaker has passed the test, self-extinguished with no measurable flame spread. For floor applications, thermal barrier and structural requirements are met by using either a raft thickness of 5/8" or more of plywood or 1 ½" of gypsum concrete. Please note: You cannot add STC ratings together to obtain estimated STC ratings in a partition/wall configuration. For example, the addition of Peacemaker sound insulation (2 mm.) will increase the STC of a wall by estimated 2-3 points, whereas the addition of Peacemaker (3.2 mm) will increase the STC rating by estimated 4-5 points. Adding double layers of each material further reduces the transmission of sound, by as much as an estimated 10 points when using the 3.2 mm insulation. STC does NOT provide enough information about a material’s isolation properties.

tried several fixes to deaden vibration on an entertainment center back caused by sub woofer in enclosed cabinent within entertainment center. Getting frustrated after so many different fixes/attempts, called rep on a SAT no less and there was someone there. Not only someone answered but this gentleman was extremely knowledgeable on why I was having the problem and recommended the peacemaker product to solve it once and for all. It worked perfectly. Goes to show Customer service will get business and having people who are knowledgable will lend trust in the product. I have since recommended this product to many friends.

I was looking for a product that would give me a degree of decoupling as well as anti-vibration because I didn't have a lot of space to add more layers of drywall and/or air gaps in my wall assembly and I happen to live in front of a very active street. The Peacemaker 6.4mm isolator was perfect, it actually absorbs the vibrations of the street traffic, and clearly added some sound deadening to my vocal booth. I recommend it.

I live in Ludlow Street the heart of Manhattan's Lower East Side neighborhood known for its bars, restaurants, and lounges... loud people and police sirens. The seven floor building - previously a tenement building can carry in not only the noise from the streets, but from the other units as well given its "shoe like" structural design. I installed the Audimute Peacemaker hoping to lessen only the noise from my apartment to the lower floor. I was amazed to found out how it did more that that. I blasted the speakers with the windows open and went out to the fire escape. I was surprised to find out how it silenced the music, but more surprised when my neighbors asked me if I have been out of town for work for a while since they have not heard me for a while. I highly recommend the product if you want to enjoy your place, your privacy, and a healthy relationship with your neighbors.-Hector

Hey thank you guys for being so helpful, when I finish the studio I'll send you some pictures. I think you'll be very surprised how I utilized your product, and just for the record I did a comparison of your product with the "now leading" competitor product...my investigation showed that in order for me to get the same coverage (3@195sq ft = 585sq ft) I would have to pay $2,425.31 and that's just for the sheets, the Peacekeeper compatible product (2@125sq ft=250) cost $699.00... for a savings of $2,260.25 and that's including shipping to Hawaii. So no matter how you slice it I saved A TON, and with that savings I'm going to create the perfect environment to launch my musical career. Thank You. Richard Johnson
