Explanation of NRC

Oftentimes confused with the STC rating, NRC stands for Noise Reduction Coefficient.  Basically,
this measurement shows how much sound a material can absorb.  This measurement is used to
gauge materials that are created to absorb sound, rather than block it.  NRC can also be viewed
as a percentage of sound waves which come into contact with the sound absorption materials and
are not reflected back into the room.  Examples of such acoustic soundproofing include Audimute
Acoustic panels and Audimute Sound Absorption sheets.

Since NRC ratings are much more dependent upon numerous variables, it would be a good idea to
involve a manufacturer or acoustic consultant to help in analyzing your particular situation, in regards
to the application and installation methods you wish to use.
