If you’re looking to acoustically tune your space, choose Audimute sound dampening panels. Audimute sound dampening panels combine effectiveness with style, absorbing echoes and reverberation while enhancing the overall decor of homes, apartments, studios, offices and more.

Audimute sound dampening panels feature eco-C-tex, the GREENEST sound absorption material in today's marketplace! Eco-C-tex is a blend of recycled cotton and cellulose fibers (the majority of which is post-consumer recycled newspaper!) Learn more about Eco-C-Tex

Besides being highly effective and environmentally friendly, Audimute 1’x 2’ sound dampening panels are also one of the most affordable absorption products on the market, priced as low as $25/panel.

Improve the acoustics in your space with Audimute sound dampening panels. Our sound dampening panels are:
  • Green - Made with eco-C-tex absorption material, a blend of cotton and cellulose - the greenest alternative to traditional fiberglass and foam. By converting recycled paper into cellulose fibers used in eco-C-tex, the paper is kept out of landfills where it has the potential to pollute the environment. Because eco-C-tex material is completely recyclable, no scrap is produced during production of the product. The eco-C-tex manufacturing process uses 1/10 of the energy than fiberglass insulation, and 1/40 of the energy than foam insulation.
  • Effective - Highly effective NRC of 1.0 - Compare Us to our competition!
  • Safe - Meet your acoustic needs with a safe alternative to fiberglass. Audimute Panels do not contain fiberglass, a material that can irritate skin, eyes, throat, and lungs. Audimute Acoustic Panels do not require a warning label like fiberglass products.
  • Handcrafted - High quality design and workmanship. Assembled by hand in the USA.

The perfect choice wherever sound needs to be improved and/or controlled. The applications are unlimited:

Acoustic Panel Installation Instructions:

Audimute Panel Clips are an effective and affordable way to hang panels with minimal damage to the wall.  Installation is quick and simple. The use of Audimute Panel Clips cuts panel installation time/cost by 50%.
  • A single panel clip is approximately 2" wide, 1 3/8" tall, with a 3/8" lift-off. Each panel clip weighs 1 oz.
  • We recommend using ONE panel clip for all standard sized vertical panel installations & TWO panel clips for 2'x3 'and 2'x4' horizontal panel installations.

Panel Construction

Audimute Acoustic Panels are the perfect solution for reverberant noise. Adding acoustical panels to the room will reduce reflected sound thereby dampening the echo and reverberation, creating an appropriate acoustic environment. Audimute acoustic sound panels offer excellent acoustic absorption properties. Panels are edge framed from lightweight metal and hand assembled from start to finish. Effective use of eco-C-tex sound absorbing technology will substantially reduce volume levels and improve the acoustics of any space.

Digital Printing Information:

The facing of the panel is 100% polyester. Choose from our stock images or supply your own logo, photo or image (high resolution approximately 300DPI required). The quality of the print will depend on the quality of the image supplied. The image is wrapped around the panel and fixed to the back to create a nice finish. Please provide your files in the form of CD-ROM (jpeg, tiff or psd file) along with a hard print of the design or section of the design.

Reproduction Suitability:

Not all images are appropriate for large format digital printing. Please consider the following when choosing photographs: Photographs should be sized proportionately to the finished dimensions of the panel. If your dimensions are wider than they are tall, then your photograph should have the same proportion. Images should be cropped if needed. Photographs should be in focus. Our graphics department will review all artwork submitted for reproduction to determine if it is appropriate in quality, clarity and size for the project.

Legal Considerations:

You must have legal rights for use on any images submitted for reproduction. All custom sales are final.

Installation and Care:

The surface of the panel can be dusted or lightly vacuumed like drapery to remove surface dust. You may also use a lint brush or roller for light dusting. (Mounting hardware is available at an additional charge)

Delivery Times:

Orders typically ship within one week from date of order depending on order size.

Recommended coverage of your space varies, based on your room size, room construction, sound source and more.  It's always best to call an Audimute acoustical expert (866-505-MUTE) before purchasing Acoustic Panels to ensure you will achieve your desired results.

When purchasing Acoustic Panels for your space, we typically recommend around 25% coverage to maximize the effectiveness of the absorption product.  Applications like vocal booths or studios may require more than 25% coverage - more general applications (with lower decibel levels or higher frequency noise) may achieve satisfactory results with less than 25% coverage.  Again, please give us a call to determine the ideal level of absorption for your space!

Calculation to figure out how many panels you'll need:

(Room Length x Room Width x % desired coverage)/ Acoustic Panel sq. ft.

Example: 10'x10' Room - (10x10x.25)/8 = 3.125 = Need (3) 2x4 Panels
                10'x10' Room - (10x10x.25)/4 = 6.25 = Need (6) 2x2 Panels

This will give you the number of Acoustic Panels you'll need to achieve your desired results based on the degree of coverage you choose.  Play around with the coverage to see how you can achieve the best results while staying within your budget.

GO GREEN with Audimute - the smarter sound control solution! Not only do Audimute Panels offer outstanding acoustic performance, but they also feature eco-C-tex, the GREENEST sound absorption technology in today's marketplace! eco-C-tex blends natural cotton and renewable cellulose fibers (the majority of which is post-consumer recycled newspaper!) in a process that produces ZERO landfill waste and requires 1/10 of the energy to produce compared to traditional fiberglass.

So why choose man-made fiberglass, dubbed as the next asbestos by many? Exposure to airborne fiberglass particles or direct contact with the product can cause skin, eye, nose and throat irritation and itching. Coughing is also a reaction to inhaled fibers. What’s more, fiberglass is considered to be a probable carcinogen by National Institutes of Health. Fiberglass product packages display cancer warning labels unlike cotton panels that do not require this warning. These labels are required by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) based on determinations made by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the National Toxicology Program (NTP).

Be good to yourself and your environment!  Choose Audimute Panels, the natural and safe acoustic solution - a better alternative to fiberglass and foam.

How do I know how much sound this product will absorb?

NRC ratings are one of the best ways to compare similar sound absorption products and determine which are most effective in absorbing sound at various frequencies.  The higher the NRC rating, the more effective the product.

Audimute Acoustic Panels have been tested and received an impressive 1.00 NRC, which means they can absorb up to 100% of the echoes and reverberation when installed correctly.
The chart below is pulled from the product's official Sound Lab Report and shows the ratings of Audimute Acoustic Panels at each of the most common frequencies.  To determine the overall NRC of Audimute Acoustic Panels, the NRC values at each tested frequency are averaged.

 125 Hz
 250 Hz
 5001000
2000
4000
Avg. NRC
.22 NRC
.66 NRC
 1.12 NRC
1.10 NRC
1.07 NRC
1.11 NRC
1.00 NRC

As you can see in the chart above (and on the official Sound Lab Report below), Audimute Acoustic Panels work extremely well in the mid to high frequency range, but not so well in the low frequency range.  Based on these results, we typically recommend absorption products for mid and high frequency applications, such as those dealing with noise from pianos, flutes, voices, etc.

How are NRC ratings determined?

Only products that have been tested in a controlled lab setting receive an NRC rating.  The process of determining a product's NRC involves testing its performance across some of the most common frequencies, then averaging the sum of these individual ratings to determine the product's overall NRC.  In general, an NRC of 0 means a product is perfectly reflective, whereas an NRC of 1 means the product is perfectly absorptive.

Another way to look at these ratings is as a percentage.  For example, if a product has an overall NRC of 1.00 (such as Audimute Acoustic Panels), the product is estimated to absorb up to 100% of the mid and high frequencies in a room.

NRC Depends on Proper Use & Installation

It's important to remember that the NRC of sound absorption products is determined based on proper use and installation.  If a product has not been installed following our recommended installation method, it may not be as effective.

Please feel free to give us a call at 866-505-MUTE if you have any questions regarding the installation requirements of a specific Audimute product.

Below is the official sound lab report for Audimute Acoustic Panels.

Audimute Acoustic Panels were independently tested by Riverbank Acoustical Lab.

Customer Reviews

After I installed everything, I put the Acoustic Panels up which made the room even more tight. There was no echo in the room as all. It really completed the studio and pulled everything together. It made me feel like I was in a professional, uber expensive, recording studio. The studio looks great and professional too. - Dre Harris

we have only so far installed the door tape in our medical office, between exam rooms at the windows, and there has been a SIGNIFICANT reduction in sound between the rooms. Once we install the panels, we know it will improve even more, giving our patients the privacy they need. thank you for your great products!

Thank you Audimute, and a special thanks to Mallory! From my first response from Audimute’s Customer Service, which was answered by Mallory, my experience has been great. Mallory answered all of my questions in a very timely manner which led me to buy the AAT-START kit and then helped me with a return issue of extra panels. Now installed in my yoga studio, the panels not only look great and add an aesthetic warmth to the space but also cancel out the tinny echo that existed due to not having any furniture in the yoga space. The panels also make the music being played in classes sound rich and full as if the panels are absorbing the music and then bouncing it back into the room. I’m so glad I went with these panels. Great price and great product. Audimute will definitely handle any of my future acoustic needs. Thank you Audimute for an honest product!

I was recently hired to help run the Eclipse Company Store, a historic building specializing in event services. The Store is a beautiful space with original 1902 wood ceilings, floors and walls. The sound quality with all that wood was echo-y and very distracting with both small and large groups. Though the space is begging for dances and live music, bands were telling us they wouldn't perform there due to the sound problems. We've installed only half of our 21 Audimute Acoustic Panels and the echoes have ceased and the sound quality has improved 100%. Not only that, but everyone who's seen the panels in the space has commented on how beautiful and professional and classy they look. We also love Audimute because it's an Ohio company making eco-friendly products. The Acoustic Panels have really deadened the sound in the room we've used them in. Now we can talk without hearing the echoes of our voices all over the space. The panels have done exactly what they said they would do. And we're excited to be able to start using our events space for live music and dancing.

I am a video editor and I needed a solution to absorb unwanted sound reflections in my edit suite while still keeping the room ascetically pleasing. The Audimute Acoustic Panels were a perfect fit! The panels are great to look as well as excellent at absorbing unwanted reflections! - Michael

I have a recording studio and needed acoustic products to control the sound reflections. After reviewing several companies on the web, I was very grateful to find Audimute. Your bass traps and acoustic panels work very well and are eco-safe. They look great and are very easy to put up. Also, the good advice and overall help I received from Mallory was so refreshing. Her manner over the phone is a good reflection of the company's integrity.
