Application Process- The Differences Between Sound Damping Paint and Sound Absorbent Materials

When it comes to the application of Audimute products versus sound damping paint, the process is very different for each.  Applications vary, from hanging Audimute products with Megaclips to using a sound proof spray gun to apply sound damping paint.  When comparing all of the processes, it becomes clear that the easiest application is that for Audimute Absorption sheets.

Audimute Absorption sheets are portable and can be easily hung using Megaclips, allowing for quick set up and take down.  This application is ideal for bands, who often practice in a garage, basement or rented space and need the convenience of sound control wherever they go.

In fact, the video below is a testimony showcasing one band's use of Audimute Sound Absorption Sheets in their rehearsal space.

Audimute Acoustic Panels are another option in terms of sound absorbent materials made by Audimute.  They are easily installed in any room, creating a room that looks as good as it sounds.  In addition to sound absorption products, Audimute also offers Peacemaker, a sound insulation that blocks sound.  Although Peacemaker requires a little longer of an application process (seeing as it works best when applied between drywalls) it is the most effective in blocking sound between rooms.  To many people, the results Peacemaker provides is worth the longer installation process.  Our Peacemaker installation guide gives step by step instructions for the do-it-yourselfer to simplify the process and give tips on what materials work best.

As far the application process of sound damping paint, there are two main options for the consumer- either roll it on the walls or use it as a sound proof spray.  The first option of rolling sound damping paint on the walls is the least recommended, due to the fact that it applies less paint in the process.  Although it is more controlled than using a sound proof spray gun, using rollers requires at least two, maybe three, coats of sound damping paint, which gets to be a long, drawn out process.  If you choose to use a sound proof spray gun in your application, the process will take less time, but will also be a little messier, requiring surface protection in your room for all the things you don’t want painted.
