Looking for Cheap Ways to Soundproof? Compare Audimute Sound Absorption Sheet to Typical Moving 'Sound Proof' Blanket

Audimute Sound Absorption Sheet vs Moving 'Sound Proof' Blanket

Sound Proofing Your Home, Basement, Garage for Music Practice? Understand the Difference Between Soundproof Padding for Cheap - Moving Blankets vs Audimute Sound Absorption Sheets.

Often times we are asked what is the difference between an Audimute Sound Absorption Sheet and a moving 'sound proof '  blanket. It is true they are both manufactured by a high speed stitching process and may look similar; however they are not in the same league!

Audimute Sound Absorption Sheets are made of 100% natural fibers (cotton & wool.) They are engineered for acoustic performance and have been proven effective (.70 NRC and higher) both in the lab and in thousands of applications for over a decade.  Moving blankets, on the other hand, are NOT usually tested for NRC because their ratings would be so poor - their insides are just not made to the same quality sound absorption standards as Audimute sheets.  Always ask to see an Acoustic Sound Lab report before purchasing absorption products to make sure the product was tested for NRC and received high ratings.  NRC ratings fall between 0 (being perfectly reflective) and 1 (being perfectly absorptive.)  The higher the NRC rating, the more sound a product can absorb.  Keep in mind, many moving 'sound proof' blankets are not even tested for NRC so their results cannot be guaranteed.

Audimute Sound Absorption Sheets are manufactured in the USA to higher quality standards than moving blankets, furniture pads, soundproof padding for cheap, etc. Moving sound proof blankets are composed of Shoddy (industrial textile waste or floor sweep = material not acoustically effective and lacking consistent sound absorption results).
